Odor Emissions Factors for Bitumen-Related Production Sites

نویسندگان

چکیده

Bitumen-related production sites are facing increasing difficulties with nearby residents due to odor emissions. This parameter is still not regulated for these plants and little known about the emissions that have put into atmosphere technologies available today. In this study, emission data from 47 Italian were collected analyzed assess which values could describe current situation in Italy. The results of analysis showed very variable, concentration between 200 37,000 ouE/m3, but a normal distribution. mean value stack was found be 2424 ouE/m3. It also possible calculate factors plants, such as rate (OER), represents quantity emitted per unit time, expressed units second (ouE∙s−1) factor (OEF) ton product, ouE/t. obtained 7.1 × 104 ouE/s 1.4 106 respectively. These provide starting point definition shared among various stakeholders regional guidelines order adjust towards parameters protective surrounding environment.

This study was an add-on project to the National Air Emissions Monitoring Study (NAEMS) and focused on comprehensive measurement of odor emissions. Odor emissions from two animal species (dairy and swine) from four sites with nine barns/rooms (two dairy barns in Wisconsin, two dairy barns and two swine rooms in Indiana, and three swine barns in Iowa) during four cycles (13-week periods) were me...

Vegetative Environmental Buffers to Mitigate Odor and Aerosol Pollutants Emitted from Poultry Production Sites

Joe Colletti, Steven Hoff, Janette Thompson and John Tyndall Iowa State University Abstract In Iowa at a commercial poultry facility, we are assessing the ability of a multi-row vegetative environmental buffer (VEB) to mitigate odor, ammonia, and particulates. In 2004 and 2005 Eastern redcedar (Juniperius virginiana), hybrid willow (Salix X) and limber pine (Pinus flexilis) were planted in rows...
